Active Travel Programme

We are excited to announce our Active Travel project to boost cycling as a key element of active transportation, in our communities. empowering our communities and nurturing a culture of health and wellness across Bodmin, St Austell & the China Clay Area, and Penzance.

Supported by funding from Active Travel England, we will utilise our expertise to implement behaviour change programs, with a focus on increasing adult participation in cycling: this initiative will provide various cycling opportunities to promote active lifestyles and address health disparities.

To ensure the project's success and long-term viability, we are fortunate to be working closely with other community driven organisations and cycling clubs including: Better Leisure Centres, The Cornwall Bicycle Project, and Par Track. The project will prioritise community-led cycling programs, such as 1:1 Learn to Ride Sessions, Guided and Group Rides, facilitated by The Cornwall Bicycle Project’s Cycling Development Team and our Community Coaches and ride leaders.

It will offer adults, particularly those with physical health challenges, disabilities, or seeking to improve mental well-being, a supportive and understanding environment to enhance cycling skills and confidence. This program aims to assist adults in incorporating cycling, walking, and wheeling into their daily routines, with personalized support available from Health Improvement Practitioners.
